Weekday college football is sick and wrong

It’s always hard when there’s an away game during the work week. You can’t wear your team colors all day. You can’t concentrate on either the game stuff or work. You’re stuck in an in-between state all day.

Then you race home, put your game colors on, and hope for the best. If you are lucky, like I am, you have a great bunch of people to watch the game with.

This week, it didn’t work out for the Ducks against Stanford.

Who are, let’s not forget, a very good team.

This is the highlight of the Oregon v Stanford game for me. We had Thomas Michael with us to cheer us up during the worst parts of the game. At least the Ducks woke up in the 4 th qtr.

Thomas really liked my green boots. He may have licked them. A little.

Thank goodness for Thomas Michael.
We had a cute baby to save the night.

And friends to grope us

I love you all.

We are all adorable

If your team loses, you should at least have a cute baby to cheer you up, and good friends to grope you. I mean, to tell you it’s all going to be OK.

Have fun on your cruise, Steve and Sandra!

Be very afraid, Utah.

Saturday night’s alright

We got some beer on ice
All my rowdy friends are comin’ over tonight
That’s right, come on in

Another Saturday, another Duck football tailgater and game. You know, for whatever reason this one was especially fun. There were a ton of people. Great people. The food was particularly tasty–Donkey Dogs, beans and posole. Almost everyone was there, talking and laughing.

I love these people.

To quote Kyle: our lives are pretty great.
Yep. They are.

We hosted Gameday and the UCLA Bruins. The Ducks started slow but then the defense kicked some serious ass in the second half. The secondary was pretty fucking phenomenal.

Yes, that means you’re going to be looking at more pictures of happy people wearing football garb. There will be a lot of smiles, but no Jell-o shot shots this week.

Stevettes Stevettes Who do we love more? Each other or the Ducks?

My feet hurt, but the Ducks won the decade so it’s OK

We are the Ducks from Oregon
We’ll fight to the end
And we’re here to play and we’re playing to win

Footballing is hard work. Or, if you insist on accuracy: watching other people playing football is hard work.

I am tired and happy. We  watched the Ducks discipline the Dawgs and the hardy few stayed up to watch the Cougs and Beavs.

Family and friends came from Portland, Corvallis and Springfield.

We had a lot of food and drink to consume, and did an impressive job as usual. There were boozes and birthday pie.

It looks like a hurricane passed through the house.

It was a good day.

Happy birthday, husband!

Did I really just quote Sebastian Bach? Wow.

I must be tired.
