Friends who are family, or another night on Tequila Hill

Shut up. Yes, I am going to have another excuse for not writing.  It’s because instead of staying home to write, I went up to Tequila Hill and had fun instead.

Pizza. Boozes. Cards Against Humanity. All the best people. Lots of hugs

(Jonny and I tied at Cards)

It was a good night, and I am going to bed.

Ever do something really stupid…

and then have to hang around waiting to find out what the result is?

I mean, hypothetically speaking.

OK, no. Really. I did something pretty stupid just now. Via text message.

Stop groaning, all you people who I’ve victimized with messages in the past.

It’s Chelle’s fault. She encouraged me in my error.

You know how irresistible she is when she tells you to do what you wanted to do anyway but were too chicken to.

Yes, I am still too distracted to write–how could you tell?

So…what’s so great about starting to like someone?

Not that I’m quite there yet, but while I have been too distracted by life to do any intelligent writing, I’ve been thinking about all of the positive things about dating at the point where you really start to like someone.

Yeah, yeah. Another list.

  1. Flirting
  2. Catching them looking at you when they think you aren’t looking
  3. Them catching you doing the same
  4. That dopey look you get when you catch each other at it
  5. Blushing
  6. Stammering
  7. Figuring out what you like and don’t like together
  8. Everything you learn about them is something new
  9. Finding out what makes them laugh
  10. Finding out if they are cheerful or grumpy before coffee
  11. Meeting their friends
  12. Them meeting your friends
  13. New activities you each bring
  14. That indefinable swoony feeling
  15. Figuring out if they like to be bitten…and where
  16. The first road trip
  17. Trying to sleep in the same bed the first time
  18. Listening to each other’s favorite music
  19. Reading each other’s favorite books
  20. Watching each other’s favorite movies
  21. Throwing quotes from favorite mutual favorite books, music and movies at each other

In an incidental note of gratitude, I had my first beer sitting outside on a patio in NW Portland after work today with Paddy. Beautiful, beautiful weather. Paddy, I was supposed to do the buying and totally forgot..thanks! And I still owe you birthday beers when you get back from the tropics.
